The work includes providing all labor, materials and equipment required to complete the design and the construction of alterations and additions for the replacement of the partial underground steam distribution system, compressed air distribution system, utility tunnels and manholes. Removal includes demolition and removal of vault covers and utility distribution piping. Removal also includes disposal of asbestos and debris. Replacement work includes excavation and backfill, surface repair, exterior steam, distribution system and compressed air systems and appurtenances, concrete masonry and exterior cement plaster enclosures, cast-in-place concrete pits; manholes and tunnels for installation of new utility piping, painting, cutting, patching and repair of existing surfaces and incidental related work. Watts performed this scope of work by implementation of engineered shoring systems with complete fencing and isolation of the danger zone, successfully completing the work without incident and no recordable injuries.
