This project consisted of a seismic retrofit of the existing wharf and associated facilities including selective demolition of concrete and masonry with associated dental excavation, the installation of DCP tiebacks up to 52 feet in length including performance and proof testing, the installation of reinforcing steel and placement of concrete for new deck, tieback beams and pile caps, the installation of epoxy coated dowels and application of silica fume shotcrete for underdeck pile cap repairs, and finally, the installation of split steel casing sleeves over deteriorated piles under the wharf deck, including sleep placement welding and grout.
