San Francisco International Airport Refueler Loading Facility, San Francisco, California

Project Status: Completed

This new truck fill facility was designed to replace an existing smaller system that was in conflict with the new master-fueling plan for the airport terminal expansion. The new system consisted of two fueling islands, each with two bottom loading truck fill systems capable of fueling four fueling trucks. In addition, the project also required a storm water collection cart pond, oily waste water system, industrial waste lines, fuel lines, truck hard stands, site paving and a hydrant test stand. The construction aspects of the project included a deep-shored excavation for the oily-water tank and retention pond, and extensive utility work installing the numerous underground piping systems required for this facility. The pumping and controls package included variable drive pumps, automated control valves, and emergency shut off systems all integrated by a PC logic system.
